Beyond Accessibility: Taking Initiative and Building a Successful Future

As a person with a physical disability, I feel that I should give myself the opportunity to explore any talents that I may not be aware of. If I have a specialization, but there are few opportunities, I also see the work that I can do from the perspective of my disability.

I know that many people believe that they will improve and be better when they treat their disability or recover. But the truth is that time does not go back, and many disabilities worsen over time. If my condition today allows me to be productive, I should focus and prioritize my talents and exploit the information that is currently available. Even if I have a phone and access to the internet, it is not reasonable to consider that I am not able to learn more. If I do not have these resources, I have to make getting them a priority. I cannot give up.

With regard to my physical disability, there are factors that greatly affect my job search, including a lack of educational opportunities and difficulty accessing public transportation. Even if I am professionally qualified, getting a job opportunity will be more difficult without a means of transportation. I am talking about the reality that I live in Libya.

Steps that can be taken to achieve success include exploring my abilities, setting goals, taking advantage of available resources, staying firm and not giving up.

Despite the challenges that I face due to my disability, I believe that I can achieve success and achieve my dreams if I exploit my abilities and work hard on developing myself. Disability does not mean incapacity, but it can be a motivation to achieve achievements. I am a very realistic person, and my writing is not within human development, but there are indeed major challenges for people with disabilities in my country, Libya
